Stay For A Good Night's Sleep

We aim to delight our customers at every opportunity and this is reflected most strongly in our bedrooms, many of which have their own unique name and style of décor.
“We have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the past 3 years as our daughter is at the university. We have never been disappointed with any aspect of the hotel. It is a beautiful period property, set in quaint surroundings. The rooms are large and airy. The food is excellent especially the breakfasts! We have visited with family and friends who have also enjoyed their stays. Would totally recommend.”

"Excellent hotel - highly recommend, great value for money. Good if visiting York University. Very friendly and excellent service throughout and particular on reception. Would highly recommend the full English Breakfast as better than the one I get in the Farmers Club in London. Good atmosphere and parking that felt safe. I got a good night's sleep."

Andrew Bray

“Beautiful period hotel with helpful friendly staff and we had a lovely apartment style room. We had an excellent dinner at the hotel and found the entire experience relaxing and calming after what had been a trying day. We would certainly go back to this hotel..”

Our Aim Is To Delight

For example, we have the Indian Room, inspired by exotic eastern touches; the Granddad Woolley Room, named in honour of a dear family member who made and sold fishing flies all over the world from his two up – two down house in Tutbury and the Boogy Woogy Room, in celebration of the ‘jivers’ amongst you and designed very much with fun in mind!

Then there is the Vino Collapso Room, which needs little explanation; the Library Room with its wallpaper depicting rows of books, and the Gardener’s Office, so named because it is a cute, detached bolt hole surrounded by our picturesque landscaping. Others are named after people who were custodians of the house before Irene and Andrew, including the Prendergast Room, and famous faces, like British musician & composer John Barry and beloved comedy actor Frankie Howerd.

Others take their inspiration from geographical locations, including our Scarborough room where you’ll feel right back at the seaside; family members, from grandchildren to favourite Aunts; the famous champagne houses of France – really anything that appeals to us or is suggested to us by guests, friends and family. This is all accomplished with the goal of creating a great and memorable experience for everyone who stays at the Pavilion.

We have seven elegant four posters, seven beautiful canopy rooms, our Romantic Suites - perfect for honeymoons and anniversaries and traditional double and twin rooms overlooking the courtyards. Our one bedroom apartment suites, across the road from the main hotel, come with sitting rooms, kitchenettes and are suitable for families as they have double bed-settees (additional charges may apply). All our bedrooms are non-smoking but we have lots of seating in our open garden areas where smoking is welcomed.
